American rapper, Kanye West might have been been widely-accepted as a controversial figure, however, he seems to have taken his level of ridiculousness to a whole new level after claiming 400 years of slavery sounded to him like a choice.
The global Hip Hop icon have dominated the news in recent times as he dropped a ‘book of thoughts’ on Twitter, then released two songs, before going on to declare his support for President Donald Trump and the Republican party.
However, he took controversy to absurd heights when he sat down for a recent interview with TMZ. Asides a slew of incoherent rants, Kanye West made a statement that is generating a world of buzz the world over, with many questioning his mental state and sanity.
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years … like, you wa
s there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all?! It’s like we’re mentally in prison.” Kanye West said.
After the interview, Kanye took to social media platform, Twitter, to try to make himself clear but he only seemed to have made matters worse.
“to make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will. My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved.” He Tweeted.
There’s been a world of criticisms across board; even with many A-list celebrities slamming Kanye‘s rants as ignorant.
