K.O REVEALS CASHTIME LIFE HEARTBREAK

Cashtime Life co-founder, K.O has finally spoken up about events that led to the collapse of the one-time biggest label in South Africa.

In an emotion-laden interview with Trending SA, the Mr Cashtime himself revealed how he felt at the time things started to fall apart and how much it hurt him.

According to him: “Whatever that I did, it was done from a great place, even till this day, I don’t have any ill feelings towards anyone because I did that just purely out of the kindness of my own heart, I decided to open a door and when it came to a point where people started peeling off.”

After artists including Kid X and Moozlie started to leave, many blamed K.O, with some suggesting that the artists were leaving because the Skhanda Gawd didn’t want them to outshine his own success.

During the interview however, the SA Hip Hop royalty and serial hitmaker shed light on how much those talks hurt him, he said:

“I ended up getting the short end of the stick because it was made to look like people were purely moving based on the fact that KO didn’t want them to blossom, and instead of people standing up on their own two feet on some “bro, that is not actually the case, we are leaving because we wanna go pursue other opportunities. Some people took comfort in the fact that people were just blaming me on that level, so it broke my heart.”

In fact, so hurt was K.O amidst the whole struggle that he revealed he even cried at some point.

“I remember one time I went to my brother’s house, the day was still unfolding and I shed a tear because I didn’t see that coming, I thought that being that I was genuinely great towards people that I was gonna receive the same genuine support, even when we’re not actually doing business together anymore, so that was the only disappointing part.”

Now signed to Sony MusicK.O continues to make the magic, flames and fire that made him so regarded on the circuit in the first place. He recently dropped his SR2 sophomore album and continues to lace bars with dope verses on several collaborations he’s feature on this year.
